 Ponca City School Board Leaders The month of January is designated as School Board Recognition Month and is celebrated by 539 local and 29 career tech school districts in Oklahoma. Over 2700 elected school board members are honored by their schools and communities for untiring dedication to schools. The Mayor of Ponca City has signed a Proclamation recognizing the work and dedication of the five members of the Ponca City Board of Education. School superintendent Dr. David Pennington stated, "We are very proud of our board members, and School Board Recognition Month is the time to recognize and show our appreciation for the countless hours of time these individuals give for the children of Ponca City. We want to join others from throughout our district and state to salute the men and women who provide grassroots governance of public schools.
